•  Make sure that appropriate information is being disseminated to motorists through advanced traveler
  information system.
• Supervise and if required operate SCADA systems in Airport, Shindagha and Sheikh Rashid Hospital tunnels.
  It is his or her responsibility to safeguard that Life-Safety Critical Systems are operated efficiently to ensure
  safe passage of traffic in the tunnels and meet RTA’s vision of Safe and Smooth Transport for all.
• Supervise Senior Traffic System operators assigned to operate Smart Drive system ensuring all incident data
  disseminated to road users accurately and provide monthly summary of incidents to Chief Supervisor.
• Support and assist Chief Supervisor during major events such as New Year’s celebrations and Expo 2020
  utilizing advanced traffic management system to prevent incidents.
  In his or her shift within the respective Zone, ensure that system generated travel times on dynamic message
  signs (DMS) and real-time traffic information disseminated to smart phones and web enabled applications are
  monitored by the Senior Traffic System operator.
• Ensure all field equipment health status are well monitored by Senior Traffic System operators within his or
  her respective Zone. He or she will be responsible that all critical faults have been reported to concerned
  stakeholder(s) for them to take appropriate action and restore faults for safe and smooth operations.
• Provides valuable feedback to Chief Supervisor for matters related to enhancement of operational efficiency
  within his or her respective Zone.
• Perform other responsibilities related to the position as appropriate.
• Shift supervisor responsible for managing group of Senior Traffic System Operators in his or her respective
• Zone to meet RTA’s vision of safe and smooth transport for all in his or her assigned Zone.
• Responsible for preparing the monthly roster for each shift within his or her Zone.
• During his or her shift, ensure that Senior Traffic System operators are monitoring adaptive real-time urban
  traffic control system (UTC/SCOOT) to operate signalized traffic signals on Dubai’s major arterial roads.
• Extensive coordination with tunnel control rooms, Enterprise Command & Control Center (EC3), Tram
• Operations Control Center (OCC), Dubai Police, Civil Defense, and Dubai Ambulance to prevent any secondary
  incidents and ensures safety of all road users.
• Ensure during his or her respective Zone, Senior Traffic System operators are proactively monitoring critical
  corridors during peak-hour traffic and effectively utilizing Closed-Circuit Television Camera (CCTVs) and
  advance traffic management system (iTraffic) for safe and smooth traffic flow.
• Supervise and provide assistance in operating, if and when requested by Senior Traffic System operators
  on Tram related signalized traffic intersections to ensure safety to all road users and congestion free Tram
  corridors.
• Ensure appropriate/prompt action has been taken in his or her respective Zone by the Senior Traffic System
  operators in the event of a road traffic incident and appropriate response plans have been activated and timely
  deactivation upon incident end.
•  Knowledgeable with Standard Operating Procedures related to Traffic Management Center and be able to
  advise and ensure compliance by the Senior Traffic System operators.
• Well versed with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management) procedures and responsible
  for implementing them during emergencies.
• Ensure that all the Incidents are closed or handed over to the next Shift Supervisor/Senior Supervisor or faults
  are reported to respective Section/Department or Section/Department-assigned Maintenance Contractor
  personnel.
• Review Daily, Weekly and Monthly Maximo Logs within his or her respective Zone and ensure all Senior Traffic
• System operators have logged incident/fault details correctly in the Maximo.
• Responsible for the targeted KPI achievements related to Incident & Fault reporting as well as shift-handovers
  within his or her Zone and provide monthly report to the Chief Supervisor utilizing data from Maximo.
• Escalate incident/fault within his or her Zone to Chief Supervisor in case of crisis/emergency.
• The Senior Supervisor should possess hands on experience on all Traffic Control Systems such as iTraffic (with
  all subsystems), SCOOT/UTC, SCADA systems for Tunnels, SMART Drive and reporting tools like Maximo &Microsoft Office tools

Bachelor / Higher Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, law, or Information Technology,
International studies/ Electronic Engineering or Software Engineering with 0-2 years of experience from
a recognized University, Or Diploma with minimum 2 years of experience, Law, International Studies Or
minimum 5 years of experience in relevant competencies needed
